Matthew Bertolini is a self-proclaimed geek who has been coding since he was 13 years old. With over 14 years of experience in the field, he is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Attentive AI. Matthew has a passion for designing and architecting systems from the ground up, and he believes that the data/object model is crucial to the success of any application. Matthew has worked with a number of companies in the past, including Meetup and Intent, where he held the positions of Staff Software Engineer and Lead Software Engineer, respectively. During his time at Intent, Matthew spearheaded the effort to modularize the ad server monolith into multiple reusable components, which increased developer productivity and system performance. He also led the team in designing and building a brand-new hotel property ID matching system known as Bellhop, which enabled the company to roll out better hotel ads that generated much more revenue than before. Matthew is experienced in a range of technologies and has a strong background in search, backend, web, and infrastructure. He is always looking to work with people who are smarter than himself so that he can be challenged and grow as an engineer. Matthew is a graduate of Marist College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.
