Matthew Chinn is a future software engineer at Google with a laid-back and light-hearted approach towards life. He is known to be funny and borderline goofy, but always dependable and responsible. Matthew's current software development focus is on web-based applications, but he hopes to explore machine learning more in the future. Currently, Matthew is a Software Engineering Intern at Google, where he has worked on a front-end facing project contributing code to be used in production. He quickly learned and utilized new frameworks, including Angular 2, Material Design, and Typescript, most of which were internal. Matthew submitted and pushed code as early as the fourth day of his internship. Before joining Google, Matthew worked as a Computer Science Tutor at the University of California, San Diego, where he tutored an Introduction to Java and a Computer Organization & Systems Programming (C and Assembly) classes. He also privately tutored AP Computer Science. Additionally, Matthew worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Lockheed Martin, where he worked with a team on a plugin dedicated to integrating two different systems and providing a graphical representation. He learned and applied new technologies/methodologies including ReST, DDS, Java GUI, and JMockit. Matthew contributed to interface design, which was utilized in the plugin to provide flexibility. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated in 2018. He also attended Northwood High School from 2010 to 2014. Matthew's technical skills include software engineering, Typescript, machine learning, frontend development, web development, AngularJS, Java, and Ruby. With 5.70 years of relevant experience, Matthew is well-equipped to take on new challenges in the field of software engineering.
