Matthew Hayes is a Senior Applied Research Scientist at Silvus Technologies, with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field of machine learning and deep learning. He is passionate about the recent developments in deep learning performance and is interested in working on hard problems that are making the future now. At Silvus Technologies, Matthew's primary role is to apply ML/DL technologies to improve tactical radio products. He is currently working on applying Deep Reinforcement-Learning (DRL) to help in radio configuration under a variety of challenging circumstances. Matthew has also developed vanilla Deep Q-Networks (DQN) extensions using Double DQN (DDQN), Prioritized experience replay and Dueling-DQN. Prior to joining Silvus Technologies, Matthew has worked as a Founder/CTO at a stealth mode startup and as a Staff Engineer at Confluera. He has a PhD in Machine Learning from Loughborough University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from the University of Bath, and a Master of Engineering (MEng) from Leeds University. Matthew has also completed a Nano-degree in machine learning from Udacity. Matthew's tech stack includes Research Scientist, Deep Learning, ML, and Senior Software Engineer. He is known for his expertise in machine learning and deep learning and has worked on several projects in this domain.
