Matthew McGuff is a passionate software engineer with a strong interest in coding and APIs. He is a firm believer in Jesus Christ and values his family and the occasional cute puppy. He is fascinated by how data moves between computers, cell phones, and other devices, and is particularly curious about APIs that provide the connections for data transfer. Matthew has extensive professional experience building and supporting web applications using a variety of frameworks, including .NET, Java, and Node.js. He has also built web applications professionally in React and Angular. He has a wealth of experience creating and developing enterprise deployments of Node.js Express REST APIs, ASP.NET Core MVC REST APIs, and even some knowledge of GraphQL APIs written in Kotlin. Above all, Matthew loves solving technical problems and is passionate about driving organizations to do things in the best way possible. He has a wide range of skills and interests, including JavaScript, Node, Express, .NET, Java, Git, TDD, GraphQL, gRPC, cloud (AWS, Azure, Heroku), SQL (MS-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), and NoSQL (MongoDB, CosmosDB, etc.). Currently, Matthew is working as a Senior Software Engineer for Software Technology Group, where he is on assignment for Traeger Grills. His work involves continuously improving the delivery of this node, microservice, cloud-based technology solution and finding ways to better own and position Traeger for the next big thing in grilling. Matthew has worked as a Software Engineer for Brigham Young University Idaho's Information Technology Department, where he delivered solutions that helped the University deliver on its mission of helping its students become disciples of Jesus Christ. He also worked as a Software Architect for P.A.V.E., where he was responsible for the early development of its solution that brings veterans and professionals together to provide the advice and direction they need. Matthew has a Full Stack Web Development Certification from Free Code Camp, several classes in Computer Software Engineering from Treehouse, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Software Engineering from Brigham Young University, an Associates of Arts in Business from the University of Phoenix, and a High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Cedar Park High School.
