Matthew Schrepel is a Lead Architect Engineer 2 at Extend, where he is focused on dragging the insurance industry into the modern era. With over 8 years of relevant experience, he is a research scientist and software engineer who is passionate about experimenting with new technologies and building things with the best tools for the job. Matthew is a full-stack developer who has built REST APIs with Node, real-time APIs in Meteor with MongoDB op-log tailing, and web clients with Ractive, CanJS, and Meteor. He has also built image servers with graphicsmagick, servers for real-time text-based collaboration with multiple concurrent users editing text, and web-based tools for his team to interact with their servers. Additionally, he has built web-based logging tools for debugging backend services over websockets. Everything Matthew has done has been mobile-first, cross-platform-oriented, built from entirely open source pieces, and designed from the start to have easily interchangeable and scalable parts. His expertise in MongoDB, mobile development, and backend development make him a valuable asset to any team he works with. Prior to his current role at Extend, Matthew worked as a Software Architect at the same company and as a Senior Software Engineer at Tradeshift. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver and completed a Full Stack Web Developer program at RefactorU.
