Matthew Weingarten is a highly motivated and dedicated Computer Science graduate from the University of Florida with a keen interest in data engineering and software development. He is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at Disney Streaming Services, where he has been involved in designing the migration of user preferences data for ESPN, National Geographic, and Marvel to the Unified Platform. Matthew has also led the migration of his area from Qubole to Databricks and a Hive metastore to a Glue metastore. He has been responsible for leading the Adobe Clickstream data engineering team from a design and implementation standpoint. Matthew is proficient in using a variety of technologies such as Airflow, AWS (ECR, ECS, EMR, federation, Glue, IAM, S3, SNS, SQS), Databricks, NiFi, Python, Snowflake, Spark (Python, Scala), SQL, and Terraform. Before joining Disney Streaming Services, Matthew gained valuable experience working at City of Clearwater and Clearwater Duplicate Bridge Center. At City of Clearwater, he was a Countryside Library Youth Intern, where he led the teen volunteer program and assisted with youth programs held throughout the week at the library. At Clearwater Duplicate Bridge Center, he worked as a card dealer, dealing and organizing over 400 decks of cards a week that were played during the Bridge games at the local Bridge club. Through these experiences, Matthew improved his leadership, responsibility, and time-management skills. Matthew has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida, which he completed in 2018. He also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same university, which he completed in 2015. Matthew completed his GRE and IB Diploma from Palm Harbor University High School in 2012. Matthew's technical skills include Data Engineering, Databricks, AWS, Terraform, Apache Airflow, SQL, Python, Spark, Snowflake, ECS, Software Engineer, Scala, Apache Hive, and Amazon Athena.
