Matthew Zoltak is a dedicated Software Engineering student who is passionate about learning new things and challenging himself every day. He is currently working as a Software Engineering Intern at Wix.com, where he is honing his skills in Java, Javascript, Spring, UI, and Backend development. Matthew has gained valuable experience through his past internships at Hypex.gg and Paysafe. At Hypex.gg, he implemented new features such as linking social accounts that allowed users to connect their profiles to specific games. He also cleaned up code in several modules to increase modularity and code reusability. Matthew worked in a fast-paced environment where tasks needed to be done quickly with little guidance. He used object-oriented design principles to design and implement the classes for bracket tournaments and wrote the algorithm for creating them. At Paysafe, Matthew migrated an internal service system from Flex UI to HTML and JavaScript. He updated backend code written in Java based on the Spring framework to implement new features. He implemented unit and acceptance tests for the internal service and worked in a team that utilized the Agile methodology along with semi-weekly scrum meetings. Matthew also debugged and added additional functionality to the internal service to make it more robust. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering from McGill University, which he will complete in December 2021. He also holds a DEC (Diplome d'etudes collegiates) in Pure and Applied Sciences from Dawson College. With 1.78 years of relevant experience, Matthew is a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer who is always eager to learn and grow.
