Max Tauro is a talented Software Engineer with a passion for learning and working with various tech stacks. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Max has honed his skills in Android and iOS development, search, and mobile technologies. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at Instagram, where he is responsible for developing Instagram Stories for Android users. Prior to joining Instagram, Max worked as a Software Engineer at Google, where he was a member of the team building Google Chrome for Android. During his tenure, he built a new Android home screen widget for Chrome that provides shortcuts for users to search using their favorite search engine, search using voice, search using Google Lens, and launch the Chrome dino game. He also built a standalone dino widget to match the iOS dino widget. Max has also worked as a Software Engineer at Instagram, where he was a member of the Multiple Accounts team working on iOS. He was responsible for creating secondary accounts (Finsta accounts, personal interest accounts, 'spam' accounts, etc.) and navigating between these accounts. During his time on the team, he built several features aimed at making multiple account usage easier for Instagram's iOS users. He also ran large scale A/B experiments involving hundreds of millions of users to measure the impact of these new features. Max holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, where he majored in Combinatorics & Optimization and minored in Computing. Max is a versatile Software Engineer with a strong desire to learn and work with new technologies. He is a valuable addition to any team and is always looking for new challenges to tackle.
