Mayank Gupta is a Software Engineer at Amazon with a passion for Software Development, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, specifically Machine Learning & Computer Vision. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Southern California with a focus on developing highly understandable and refined AI systems that establish trust in AI-technology. Mayank is driven to explore untouched areas of AI that significantly impact our daily lives. He appreciates the advancements in recommender systems that understand our preferences and choices while shopping, making friends, or reading news articles. He is also deeply interested in classification problems and thrives on the adrenaline rush he feels while working on these problems. Mayank aims to bring a majority of things, including some of the most complex AI systems, to the smartphone, bridging the gap between users and AI technology. Currently working in EC2 Core Platform’s Catalyst Team at Amazon, Mayank's role involves automating EC2 region builds, getting a new Data Center up and running as soon as possible. Prior to this, he worked as a Course Producer and Course Grader at USC Viterbi School of Engineering for courses in Information Retrieval & Web Search Engines, Software Engineering, and Computer Graphics. Mayank holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Software Engineering from DTU, Delhi, and completed his Senior Secondary Examination and Secondary Examination from Lancer's Convent School, Delhi. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, AI, Computer Vision, Information Retrieval, ML, Research Scientist, Mobile, Search, and Web. Mayank has 4.20 years of relevant experience and is committed to developing advanced and generalized AI systems that can perform multiple tasks like humans.
