Mayank Patel is an accomplished Data Scientist and Research Scientist with a strong background in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Pytorch. He is currently working as a Software Engineering and Data Science Intern at zyyp, where he is contributing to the betterment of SMEs using Technology. Mayank has previously worked as an NLP Research Intern at the University of Sheffield and Computer Vision Intern at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. During his tenure at both universities, he created a Satellite Images dataset of forest and non-forest for Wilderness Classification using deep learning. He implemented various models such as LeNet, VggNet, ResNet9, Inceptionv1, MobileNetv2, and DenseNet121 using Pytorch. Mayank also developed DeepSatv2, which is the state-of-the-art model for satellite image classification, from scratch by adding 12 crafted features and achieved the maximum validation accuracy of 0.9888 and 0.0042 binary cross-entropy loss with DeepSatv2. Mayank holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where he is currently pursuing his degree and is expected to graduate in 2023. He also completed his 12th CBSE board with 94% from Delhi Public School, Bhilai. Apart from his academic and professional achievements, Mayank has a strong command of various technologies such as Data Science, Research Science, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and NLP. He has relevant experience of 0.36 years, and his passion for technology and innovation is evident from his work.
