Mayank T. is a hands-on manager and engineer with over 14 years of experience in developing products from scratch, involving design, architecture, deployment, capacity and infrastructure planning. He is currently the Head of Engineering for Ads at Tokopedia, where he is responsible for building and maintaining a scalable, distributed, and resilient platform to serve meaningful ads to buyers at the peak traffic of 100k requests/second. Mayank is also helping to move machine learning models in production to better serve customers and sellers, and working towards moving from a huge monolith architecture towards a microservice architecture. Mayank has specialised in Large Scale Micro Services, Real-Time, Horizontal Scaling, Fault Tolerance, High Availability, Cloud-Deployment, and Multi-Tenancy. He has transformed legacy systems into solid and scalable platforms by following best practices in software development. Mayank has worked on L2R, Semantic matching, K2K, K2P, and KSeg models to make search better and more relevant for customers. He has also derived a server-side circuit breaker system to help reach high availability of services. In his previous role as Senior Software Engineering Manager at Chegg, Mayank led various technology initiatives across the company and helped other engineering teams adopt the solution. He was responsible for engaging with the technical hiring team and building a team of 15+ strong and self-driven engineers. Mayank has also driven technical design and architecture discussions to deliver resilient, scalable, efficient, and optimized code to production. He has experience in vendor management, including AWS, monitoring tools, and third-party application tools. Mayank holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi.
