Meghan Desai is an experienced Product Manager with a focus on driving cross-functional development and launching new product features. Currently working at YouTube, she is responsible for YouTube Live Interactivity & Discovery. Prior to this, Meghan worked as a Product Manager at Google for over 8 years, where she led the development of software-based battery life and connectivity features in the Android framework. She launched Battery Saver as part of Android Lollipop, Doze and App Standby as part of Android Marshmallow, and extension of Doze as part of Android Nougat, improving user battery life. She also launched new connectivity features that provided more seamless connectivity for consumers and enabled myriad use cases such as micro location and co-presence discovery. Meghan drove collaboration with over 10 key partner companies to facilitate product development. Meghan also led a team of 10 developers and UI designers to develop and maintain big data visualization product used across Google to analyze large datasets for business intelligence reporting and discovering product insights. She achieved significant growth in 30-day active users and launched an industry-leading data visualization platform. Meghan conducted user studies with 7 power user groups to inform feature roadmap and user experience enhancements. Before joining Google, Meghan worked as a Product Manager Intern at Amazon, where she drove cross-functional development and launched product features to enhance user experience on Kindle for Android reading app, resulting in increased engagement and conversion (electronic book purchases). She also conducted business, financial, and technical feasibility analyses for new product features that resulted in a formal recommendation presented to senior Kindle leadership. Meghan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University. Her technical skills include product management, Android, big data, and UI. With over 14 years of relevant experience, Meghan is a seasoned professional in the tech industry.
