Mehul Shinde is a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, currently serving as a Peer Career Consultant. In this role, he works alongside the Assistant Director of Career Services and four other students to provide advice and guidance to students on navigating their job search and achieving their career goals. Mehul conducts one-on-one sessions and career workshops to share helpful ideas on applying to jobs, preparing for different kinds of interviews, and networking. Prior to his current role, Mehul worked as a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where he taught Software Engineering Methods. He also gained valuable industry experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Copart. During his time at Copart, Mehul developed a proof of concept for a new message queue system using the message broker Kafka and Spring Cloud Data Flow. He also participated in the Research and Development of technologies used in the new Accounting and Revenue system. Mehul wrote APIs to efficiently consolidate data from different services and made it consumable to a variety of UI products using Spring Boot and Hibernate. He also wrote a service to generate a report of financial activity tracking that pulled data from various other applications. Mehul's experience at Copart allowed him to work with a variety of technologies, including Java, Spring, Maven, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, H2, Hibernate, and JIRA. Mehul holds a Master of Science in Computer Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Music from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal and a High School Diploma from Wisdom High International School in India.
