Mel Guillermo is a seasoned Sr. Technical Recruiter with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Currently, Mel works at Okta, Inc. as a Sr. Technical Recruiter, Customer First. Okta is a company that provides simple and secure access to people and organizations everywhere. Their vision is to accelerate a world where everyone can safely use any technology. Mel is an integral part of the Okta team, where she works tirelessly to forge secure connections between people and technology. Before joining Okta, Mel worked at Palo Alto Networks as a Sr. Technical Recruiter. She was responsible for managing recruiting efforts for professional services and customer support. In addition, she was responsible for pre-sales and marketing roles at the Director & VP level. Mel closed 15-22 candidates per quarter with a 98% close rate, which is a testament to her strong recruiting skills. Mel also worked at Cohesity as a Sr. Technical Recruiter, where she managed recruiting efforts for hybrid cloud, storage, and networking technologies. Unfortunately, her job was affected by Covid-19. At Cohesity, Mel was responsible for leading weekly conversations with hiring managers to cover sourcing strategy, pipeline, and current candidates in the interview process. She actively worked with compensation, finance, and hiring teams to ensure internal processes and operations were efficient. Mel also coached recruiting sourcers on search strategies to help build pipeline. Mel has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business/Logistics from California State University Maritime and attended St. Patrick - St. Vincent High School.
