Melody Nicholls is a junior software engineer at Players' Lounge with a passion for providing people with the means to communicate their thoughts and opinions openly. She is currently pursuing a BSc in Computer Science and has experience in web and software development, event management/planning, and broadcasting. Melody has attempted to gain experience in different methods of providing media to people, including radio and TV, to expand her understanding of what makes a good platform for someone to use. Through this, she has gained an understanding of health and safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and project planning. Melody has worked as a software engineer intern at Players' Lounge and as a technical manager at LA1 TV, where she was responsible for writing up cable plans, writing proposals for new equipment, managing a budget to buy equipment without wasting it, planning, setting up and overseeing the operation of events, writing custom software and web services, putting together and maintaining all-in-one broadcasting kits, setting up and maintaining sound equipment, editing small videos, and keeping a database of current equipment and ensuring that maintenance is performed. Melody holds a BSc in Computer Science from Lancaster University, where she is expected to graduate in 2022, and a Bachelor of Technology - BTech in Computer Games and Programming Skills from Birmingham City University, which she completed in 2018. Her tech stack includes software engineering and web development, and she has 1.28 years of relevant experience. Melody is a dedicated and hardworking individual who is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow in her field.
