Michael Bobick is a senior technical leader with over 27 years of relevant experience in software engineering. He is currently the Engineering Manager at Netflix, where he manages a team of sixteen engineers responsible for the personalized homepage and related pages. This experience is seen by all members on all devices that Netflix supports, including TVs, mobile devices, and web browsers. Michael's team partners closely with algorithm engineering teams, UI teams, and supports over a dozen product areas that span the Netflix product. They drive innovation via A/B testing and a data-driven approach, leading cross-functional efforts. The personalized homepage and related pages are constructed by a suite of cloud-based Java services that run ML models and algorithms both offline and in real-time. These services are designed to scale and be resilient, as well as to provide a flexible platform to innovate and A/B test on. Prior to his current role, Michael was a Senior Software Engineer at both Netflix and Voltage Security, where he worked on developing software solutions and leading technical teams. He holds an MS from Stanford University and a BS from the University of California, San Diego. He also attended Palo Alto High School. Michael's technical expertise includes Senior Software Engineering, ML, Java, Mobile, UI, and Web development. He is a seasoned technical leader with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions at scale. His ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive innovation through A/B testing and data-driven approaches makes him a valuable asset to any organization.
