Michael Foltz, Esq. is a highly accomplished Global Recruiting Lead with over 16 years of experience in leading and recruiting technical and non-technical talent across management and contributor roles. He has a diverse background that includes senior business development and legal experience, having worked as a securities, corporate, and finance lawyer in New York State from 2003 to 2004. Currently, Michael is the Global Recruiting Lead for the legal department at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange. He is responsible for leading and managing a team of recruiters and sourcers working on attorney, paralegal, contracts, and related openings. Additionally, he leads his own recruitment efforts on some openings. He is also responsible for taking the team and the business from "not much structure, fast-paced start-up" to "structured processes, fast-paced but process and metrics-driven". Michael regularly partners with the Chief Legal Officer and Director of Legal Operations, providing bi-weekly reporting and other updates. Prior to his current role, Michael worked as a Senior Full-life-cycle Recruiter at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange and Affirm. At Kraken, he was responsible for recruiting legal positions, including attorneys, paralegals, and contracts specialists. At Affirm, he was responsible for recruiting all USA compliance, legal, enterprise risk, and regulatory talent. Michael consistently exceeded his goals, achieving 118% of goal for Q1 2022 and 140% of goal for the preceding quarter (Q4 2021). He managed positions ranging from L8-L10 director and senior director hires to L4-L7 junior analysts, paralegals, attorneys, and similar. He also had an impressive offer acceptance rate, with only 3 declines versus 32 accepts. Michael holds a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
