Michael Frederick is a seasoned product leader with over 14 years of experience in engineering and data-driven product development for web and mobile platforms. He is a startup enthusiast who loves solving new and challenging problems. Michael is currently an Angel Investor at Golden Seeds, where he empowers women to invest in early-stage companies led by women. He helps source, screen, diligence deals, and mentor entrepreneurs. Since 2005, Golden Seeds has invested over $145 million. Michael has also served as a Lead Mentor at Boomtown Accelerators, where he mentored early-stage startups and helped steer them towards product-market fit. He is the CEO of Flatirons Development, a product development and full-service design firm that specializes in moving early-stage software companies from point A to point B. They are focused on building SaaS products, multi-user applications, marketplaces, and complex systems that balance user needs with critical business goals, consistently working as an advocate of the end-user. Flatirons Fund, the investment arm of Flatirons Development, was launched in 2020 to encourage innovation during a troubled economic climate and the years beyond. They are focused on supporting and advancing a new wave of founders, particularly women and people of color who have traditionally been underrepresented in venture capital. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
