Michael Ruxsaksriskul is a highly experienced IT specialist, cloud architect, and DevOps lead with over a decade of experience working on and leading large-scale deployments and implementations across various industry sectors. He specializes in architecture, containerization, automation, migrations, site reliability, optimization, and cost savings in the cloud, with a focus on AWS. Michael has previously worked at Amazon Web Services in a specialized DevOps team and is an AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional. Currently, Michael is an IT Specialist (INFO SEC) in the Cloud Center of Excellence organization for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In this role, he is responsible for architecting secure cloud environments and leading information systems development and modernization efforts. He plans, designs, develops, tests, and deploys cloud infrastructure and applications, providing technical expertise and recommendations for cloud issues in either DevOps, Architecture, Networking, and/or Certificates and Accreditation. Michael advises and consults on the integration of security policies and regulations for SEC applications, providing day-to-day technical advice including cyber-security-related expertise for the SEC's applications. Michael has specialized experience writing enterprise information security policies, procedures, and templates, analyzing risk acceptance for information security systems, related to system weaknesses and compliance deviation requests, utilizing cybersecurity risk governance toolsets, monitoring system performance towards addressing identified Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and preparing for and supporting internal and external information security audits. He is responsible for determining acceptable levels of residual cybersecurity risk and developing mechanisms and metrics to provide a common understanding of the agency's cybersecurity risk posture. Michael identifies, analyzes, and coordinates mitigation strategies for system risks identified by internal and external information security audits and reviews. Prior to his current role, Michael worked as a Senior AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer/Technical Account Manager at Ventech Solutions and as a Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer at JHC Technology Inc. In these roles, he provided focused support for timely resolution of support requests and drove the successful adoption and use of AWS services in large multi-AWS Account environments. Michael managed complex problems as well as acted as a proactive and consultative resource to help customers plan for their future growth and the continual adoption of emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
