Michael Wexler is an experienced Senior Research and Analysis Director with extensive knowledge of advanced modeling, data mining analytics, research design and management, and Internet technologies. He has an established track record of developing, executing, analyzing, and optimizing data and metrics-driven marketing campaigns. Michael is currently the Director of Marketing Science at Current, a fintech company offering financial services for those who want all the things that a traditional bank isn't. He is responsible for driving the growth of the company and building a team of analysts and data scientists focusing on measuring the effects of new and old marketing techniques, deriving new metrics and leveraging multiple approaches to efficiently help the underbanked get the service they deserve. Michael has worked with various companies in the past, including Shopify, where he was the Director of Data Science (Growth Marketing), expanding a Data Science team focused on impactful use of data for growth and marketing optimization. He also worked with Citi as a Senior Director, Data Science for Citi Fintech, where he merged startup approaches with the strength of an international bank. His Data Science projects ranged from chatbots to new lending models and from new approaches to PFM to process automation. Michael has accomplished speaking and presentation skills in communicating complex research findings and recommendations to senior management and clients. He has experience managing direct reports and external vendors. Michael is a Data Scientist, Research Scientist, and has expertise in ML and NLP. He started out in Social Psychology and believes that you can do amazing things in data no matter what your background is. Michael has completed his MA, PhD (All But Dissertation, so incomplete) in Psychology (Social and Quantitative Psychometrics) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also completed his BA in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Virginia. He attended Isidore Newman in high school.
