Mochamad Syahid is a Cloud Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) with over 11 years of experience in developing robust applications, managing hundreds of bare metal servers, thousands of virtual machines, and multiple cloud infrastructures. He has expertise in creating high availability networks and systems, designing complex security architectures, and handling gigabits of traffic. Mochamad started his career as a Software Engineer for Java and PHP and went on to explore various roles such as Network Engineer, Security Analyst, and System Engineer. He has worked with multiple cloud providers such as DO, Heroku, Digitalocean, AWS, and GCP. He has experience managing server infrastructure, web servers, persist stores, memory stores, Big Data Hadoop environments, Kubernetes bare metal and cloud, messaging systems, real-time computation frameworks, and log aggregator frameworks. In his current role at Amazon, Mochamad is responsible for the long-term development of large, complex, and distributed organizations. He engages with customers to understand their business drivers and application portfolio and develops long-term Cloud strategies for them. He identifies and develops specific opportunities and supporting business cases, shapes deals, negotiates contracts, and closes deals. He also plans and implements a portfolio of projects, mitigates delivery risks and issues, and oversees the delivery of projects in the account. He acts as a single point of contact for customer executives, developing deep, trustful relations, and educates customers on AWS services and translates those into clear business value propositions. Mochamad has worked with companies such as Shopee and Amartha in the past. At Shopee, he developed a working monitoring system that could adapt to high traffic and spike traffic. He managed a team of SRE and DBA for the task and set capacity planning and budget planning for infrastructure. At Amartha, he researched, planned, designed, and implemented new technology and managed a team of over 25 members of developers, QA, and DevOps. Mochamad holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia Jakarta. He possesses excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and is deeply technical, hungry for knowledge, and always learning. He is serious about what he does but can be found laughing all day around people when he takes a break.
