Monil Soni is a software development engineer with Amazon Physical Stores, where he manages all in-store and omnichannel returns experiences. He is proficient in Java and VueJS, as well as works well with Python and Shell scripting. Monil is a strong owner with excellent deep dive skills, excelling in building products and knowledge base from scratch. He has worked to launch Amazon 4-Star store in the UK, where he owned end-to-end returns features for Point of Sale and Account Savings feature. Monil holds a B.Tech. degree in Information and Communication Technology from DAIICT, where he built a strong quantitative foundation with courses like Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Machine Learning, Data Mining, etc. He has also led various club and committee initiatives from his time there. Monil has worked as a Software Development Intern with Amazon, where he added a feedback loop to improve auto-generated flagging and classification for apps submitted on Amazon Appstore. This automation saved 3-4 manual hours per week and produced better reports that were published to Amazon S3. He has also worked as a Winter Intern at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, where he studied and implemented the research paper on unpaired image-to-image translation using cycle consistent adversarial networks, and applied it for object transfiguration, style transfer, and season transfer. He worked under Prof. Suman Mitra. Monil is currently pursuing Master of Quantitative Management: Business Analytics from Duke University and is a candidate at Fuqua School of Business. When he is not working, he usually spends time sketching or learning keyboard. Most of his time is spent in one of his late-discovered passion - writing.
