Moyukh Bera is a seasoned VP of Engineering at Dentira, a VC-funded startup that revolutionizes healthcare supplies procurement. With over 11 years of experience in building distributed cloud-based applications, Moyukh has architected, built, and owned codebases including backend APIs, async workers, search engines, frontend SPAs, pure JS widgets, and even mobile apps with complex graphics. Moyukh is a self-taught coder who discovered his passion for programming in 2007. He spent the next few months voraciously reading a dozen technical books, learning multiple technologies, building computer games, and dynamic websites. Since then, he has been building distributed cloud-based applications using cutting-edge technologies for early-stage internet startups and product companies. Moyukh's key skills include Go, JavaScript, Java, Node.js, Express.js, Apollo Server, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, React, Redux, GraphQL, Webpack, Styled, and D3. He is the creator of QuadrilleDB, a distributed geospatial database written in Go, and the author of quick-validate, an npm package for configurable API validations. At Dentira, Moyukh spearheads the engineering effort, working on scaling engineering platform and team. He has scaled Dentira from 0 to $100M annual orders with a lean and distributed team of less than ten remote engineers. He evaluates new technologies and drives architecture and design decisions, identifies gaps, and continuously improves the engineering platform to reduce technical debts. He is actively involved in hiring and related activities, including defining positions, required skill sets, preparing JD, and interviewing. He is working on defining and instilling development best practices and currently working on ways to automate and streamline development and release processes and setting up CI/CD pipeline. Moyukh's past experiences include being a founding engineer and lead engineer at Dentira, where he was responsible for ideating, designing, architecting, and building the foundational pieces of the platform.
