Mukund Poddar is a highly motivated MS candidate in Health Data Science at Harvard University with a strong background in computer science and engineering. He is currently working as a Research Assistant at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he is creating a platform for physicians to use a machine learning model that predicts the need for a surgical referral for patients with Ulcerative Colitis. Prior to this, Mukund has worked as a Software Development Intern at Tata Medical Center, where he worked with the Leukemia research group to make a system for Maintenance Therapy for dosage for patients suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Manipal Institute of Technology, where he assisted the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in teaching and leading the Placement Mentorship Sessions, where they taught concepts like Object Oriented Programming, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Data Structures to students from the Junior year with an aim to excel in placement tests and interviews. Mukund has a diverse educational background, including a Master of Science in Health Data Science from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, currently pursuing an MS in Health Data Science from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, and a High School degree from Don Bosco School Park Circus. With a relevant experience of 1.60 years, Mukund is well-versed in research science, data science, machine learning, and software engineering. He has a strong technical skill set and is passionate about using his expertise to make a positive impact in the healthcare industry.
