Murali Malladi is a people-first leader with a passion for learning and building. With almost two decades of experience in the technology industry, he has honed his team-building and people-development skills while staying at the forefront of industry-defining technologies such as Virtualisation, Flash Storage, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, Distributed Systems, and Enterprise Clouds. Murali believes that great products are the result of great people coming together and working together. He learned this lesson during his ten years of experience in high-paced startups, where he discovered that “coming together and working together” is the biggest challenge, given that humans have varied needs and complex emotions. As the VP of Engineering at Great Learning, Murali continues to build great teams and products. He is a design-first engineer by practice and a contrarian educationalist by karma. His four-year journey as a homeschooling-parent made him realize the gaps and opportunities in the education system, which led him to take a sharp turn from his two-decades of a career in Enterprise Technologies. Murali is a strategic advisor and co-founder of Prabal, an organization that aims to bridge the gap between the industry and academia by building a research and exploratory mindset in children from school days. He believes that unless we start early, it is difficult to make children adapt to a research and exploratory mindset at the university level. Murali holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics from Christ College, Bangalore, and a Master's degree in Computer Applications from Indira Gandhi National Open University. His technical expertise includes Senior Software Engineering, infrastructure, ML, and Research Science.
