Muthu Raj is an experienced Android Developer currently working at Zoho Corporation. With 6.78 years of relevant experience, he is a Kotlin enthusiast and passionate about programming in general. At Zoho, Muthu is responsible for the end-to-end architectural design and implementation of the Zoho Backstage Attendee Android app. He wrote the app from scratch, implemented reactive programming using RxJava, and wrote modular code with good unit test coverage for critical parts. He adopted Kotlin even before Google announced it as the official Android language. Muthu also gave full offline support and seamless deep linking experience, automated the white-label app creation process, and created and released numerous white-labeled apps to Play Store. He implemented the CI pipeline for unit tests and extracted part of a feature and exposed it as SDK in a very short time. Muthu is also working on the Zoho ShowTime Viewer Android app, where he inherited the project and implemented a major breaking change right after taking over. He continuously did major internal changes to support the sudden surge of remote sessions due to Covid and converted the app into SDK to use in Backstage and few other apps. He also improved the user experience by continuously monitoring customer feedback and found several high priority server issues by analyzing customer reports with server logs. Muthu refactored major parts of the app, used Kotlin Coroutines and Flow to reduce code and improve overall readability. Muthu holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Science from Sethu Institute of Technology. He also completed his High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from S.H.N Edward Higher Secondary School and Fifth Standard from KCAD Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Muthu's tech stack includes Android, Kotlin, and test. With his expertise in Android development and passion for programming, he is an asset to any team.
