Nabeel Shaikh is a seasoned software engineer with over 7 years of experience in designing and developing applications using Object Oriented Design for Enterprise / Small-to-Medium sized companies. He has worked across various domains including Finance, DevOps, E-commerce & Telecom. Nabeel is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps at Upstox, where he is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and automation of their systems. Nabeel's specialities include Backend web development, Infrastructure Setup & Automation, and building systems from scratch; using primarily Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Ansible & Linux. He has a strong understanding of DevOps principles and has successfully implemented them in his previous roles. Prior to joining Upstox, Nabeel worked as an Associate at JP Morgan, where he was an Athena Developer for Rates Derivatives. He also worked at Zycus as a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps, where he helped automate their infrastructure and smoothly transition their products and services to the cloud. At Zycus, he brought a DevOps mindset of using Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to transform historically slow and manual IT processes. He built a custom IaC interface to provision a virtual machine over hybrid infrastructure (AWS + On-premise) and wrote more than 20 roles for automating infrastructure tasks using Ansible. He also built a generic, asynchronous, non-blocking ReST API for graceful handling of complicated, time-consuming requests. Nabeel holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar and a Diploma in Electronics and Video Engineering from Vivekanand Education Society's Polytechnic. He completed his secondary education from St. Joseph's High School, Vikhroli.
