Nabendu Das is a seasoned IT industry professional with over 25 years of experience, specializing in product development. Currently serving as the Chief of Engineering at Tally Solutions Pvt Ltd, he is responsible for leading the product engineering function for the leading business management software provider in India. With the introduction of GST, Nabendu sees a tremendous opportunity for Indian businesses to leverage technology, and he is working towards making Tally the software of choice for SME business taxation in India. Nabendu has a proven track record of building high-performance technical teams from the ground up. He has previously worked for Infosys in the Finacle product development team, where he led engineering for key Finacle products, including the enterprise origination system and liquidity management system. He managed a product development team of over 100 members, with technical manager and senior technical manager roles reporting to him. At Tally, Nabendu has led the development of the company's products for the retail segment and the 5.0 and 5.x family of releases of Tally.ERP9. He is currently leading the product design and delivery of Tally's GST-ready product in the Connected environment. Nabendu has a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University. He is a product designer by trade and has a deep understanding of software products for SMEs, enterprise software, and program management.
