Nadav Har'El is a distinguished engineer at ScyllaDB, a startup company that has developed a new C++ Cassandra-compatible NoSQL database that is 10 times faster than the original. He is also a programmer and mathematician with over 24 years of relevant experience in the field. Before joining ScyllaDB, Nadav worked as a researcher at IBM's Haifa Research Lab for over a decade. During this time, he was part of the Information Retrieval group where he worked on search engines and data mining. He later moved to the Virtualization and Systems Architecture group where he worked on the KVM hypervisor. Nadav is also a board member of Hamakor Israeli Free and Open Source Software NPO, an Israeli association for free software and open-source code. He has served on its management board and as a comptroller. Nadav holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. He has a strong tech stack that includes C++, NoSQL, Cassandra, Research Scientist, Information Retrieval, and Search.
