Naga Venkatesh Gowru is a versatile software engineer with over 11 years of development experience. He has worked on a range of projects, from developing SSD firmware to infrastructure tools/services developer on multi-cloud and developing scalable microservices-based solutions. Naga has experience in both backend development and tools/framework/automation. In his current role as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware, Naga has worked on various monitoring and cloud deployment solutions for EUC's Horizon Enterprise and Horizon Cloud products. He is proficient in Python, Kubernetes, Java, Java Spring Boot, Spring, and Docker, and is familiar with Go, AWS/Azure Cloud, and erstwhile C/C++ developer. Naga is an active innovator and has presented at RADIO-2017 and regularly participates in Borathon's/Hackaway's. Naga has partially designed and implemented the Horizon Monitor's microservices to get the Horizon Cloud/Enterprise infrastructure and products monitoring metrics. He has also developed various deployment/utility tools for the deployment of Horizon Cloud to IBM Softlayer cloud. Naga has contributed to the team's expansion by interviewing/hiring laterals and interns and mentoring the interns and bootstrapping the laterals. Naga's skills include programming languages such as Python, Core Java, Java Spring Boot, C/C++, GO, Shell scripting, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. He is also experienced in container orchestration and others such as Kubernetes, Docker swarm, Minikube, Docker, Helm, and Ansible. Naga has experience in infrastructure (cloud services) such as AWS (EC2, ALB, lambda, DynamoDB, python boto3, VPC, etc.), AZURE (naive), monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Telegraf, Grafana (Dashboard), and data analytics such as Python numpy, pandas, Scikit-Learn, and Jupyter. He is also familiar with MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kibana, VMware vCenter, vSphere, Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), Unix, and Windows. Naga's past experience includes working as a Lead Engineer at Samsung and a Software Engineer at HCL. At Samsung, he worked on Linux IO Stack (or Storage sub-system) to improve SSDs' performance by tuning various parameters in the file system, block layer, page cache, IO Schedulers, SCSI driver, LVM, RAID, etc. He has also written white papers on articulating the usage of SSD
