Narayan Babu is an experienced product and engineering leader with expertise in building mobile-first, blue ocean products across multiple industries. He has a huge emphasis on engineering excellence and best practices to effectively drive product and business priorities. With deep device-side expertise from platform apps to working on the Android open-source project (AOSP), Narayan has played a leadership role in multiple tenures and has a keen eye for innovation and design experience. Narayan has always believed in "small teams with big impact" and has successfully scaled Glance to 100M DAUs with < 20 folks, built Truecaller SDK, Pay, Flash with < 10 folks. Currently, he is running the Glance engineering org (120+ folks). His experience across functions has helped him work effectively and symbiotically with different leaders and orgs (Product, Design, Business, etc.). With multiple 0 to 1 throughout his career, Narayan has successfully built, scaled, and sold Dexetra. He has been involved in the acquisition of Lookup, Chillr (Truecaller), Roposo (Glance). Narayan has worked with founders for most of his career and has grown the team from 15 to 150. He has built and executed a unified platform strategy across the orgs while keeping the products independent in execution. Narayan has also worked with OEMs, content providers, tech platform partners to drive growth. Currently, Narayan is heading product and engineering for US credit banking at Zeta, where he is building a modern banking stack and user experience for US consumer banking. He is also heading mobile infra, building lean, efficient, and cross-platform banking apps and SDKs. Narayan has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from Mahatma Gandhi University and has completed his schooling from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Trivandrum. He has 14.52 years of relevant experience and is skilled in Mobile, Infra, Android, and Senior Software Engineer.
