Naresh Kumar is a skilled Firmware Engineer with over 14 years of experience in the semiconductors industry. He is currently working as a 4G/5G Software Dev Engineer at Apple, where he is responsible for firmware architecture, design, feature development, pre-silicon verification, HW-chip bring-up, and supporting product milestones such as Lab KPI, NV-IOT, field test, product launch, and post-launch customer support. Naresh has been working on LTE-A physical layer processing for the last few years and has recently started working on 5G-NR in parallel. Naresh has a strong engineering background, with a MTech in Electrical Engineering (Information systems) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He is skilled in Embedded Software, Device Drivers, C++, Java, and Digital Signal Processors (DSP). He also worked on 2G modem support for platform development, architecture changes/memory cuts for new platforms across modem/Audio DSPs, and EC_GPRS (Enhanced coverage GPRS) targeted for Cellular IOT. Prior to Intel, Naresh worked as a Software Engineer at Freescale Sem, where he developed video coding algorithms for H.264, Scalable video coding (SVC), and optimized the same for the Starcore DSPs.
