Nate is a highly skilled full stack engineer with a passion for education, particularly in the fields of math and computer science. Currently a Masters Candidate at Stanford University, Nate has extensive experience in teaching high schoolers using Complex Instruction, including a co-taught Algebra 1 course using the SFUSD Common Core curriculum and Computer Science Principles using Berkeley's Beauty and Joy of Computing curriculum. Nate has a strong background in software engineering, having worked on a Rails/Backbone app, with recent experience in Ionic 2+/Angular 2+ and Node using Typescript and ES6. He is also proficient in Ruby and AngularJS and enjoys working on side projects in Elm. As an Apprentice Software Engineer at the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, Nate contributed to many parts of their stack, building the mobile interface for an internal networking platform using Ionic 2+ and a custom ORM that he helped to design. He also contributed to the design and testing of their HTTP endpoint. Nate completed his Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Secondary Education and Teaching (Mathematics) at Stanford Graduate School of Education in 2014 and his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College in 2009.
