Nathan Lam is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 6 years of relevant experience. Currently working with Andrena as a Software Engineer, Nathan has made significant contributions to the company's success. He built an asynchronous auto-aiming wireless router that enables customers to self-install with optimal speeds, removing the need for a network technician. He also led the design and development of monitoring systems using InfluxDB/PostgreSQL/Grafana deployed on AWS that detects internet outages and tracks performance metrics for all devices in the field. Nathan developed backend systems using Twisted and Django to enable customers to provision their networks on access points and provide internet connection within minutes of registration. He also created an autonomous deployment scheme that updates all devices in the field. In his previous role as a Software Engineer at Yext, Nathan implemented backend infrastructure for Sentiment, a product that provides sentiment analyses of review data. He revamped the emails and reviews product by making the system idempotent and greatly improving effective monitoring and alerts/automatic test coverage of the entire system. Nathan designed Elasticsearch cache and migration plan to replace legacy in-memory cache for social posting, greatly improving maintainability, code coverage, and overall performance. He also designed and implemented an automated test fixture generator using Java reflection to help developers focus testing logic. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science from Princeton University and completed his high school education at Troy High School.
