Nauman Tahir is a Sr. Staff Engineer with a passion for creating and improving things using appropriate technology. With over 10 years of experience in software engineering, he has worked both as an individual contributor and as part of different teams. Nauman has also managed small teams to achieve long-term and short-term goals on time. Nauman has acquired knowledge of various tools and technologies, including C/C++, Java, Python, Shell Scripting, and has a strong understanding of OS concepts and TCP/IP protocol stack. He is experienced in traffic engineering, transparent proxy, IPTables, EBtables, embedded system programming using C, kernel programming on Linux (2.4/2.6), REST API, Docker, unit testing frameworks for C++ and Python (gtest, gmock, nosetest), and code review tools and process (Code Collaborator and Gerrit). Nauman is also familiar with git. Currently working at Netskope as a Sr. Staff Engineer in Data Plane Engineering, Nauman has previously worked at Pertino as a Member of Technical Staff, where he was part of the Networking Team and worked as an individual contributor for traffic engineering and forwarding. He has also worked at Tellabs as a Staff Engineer, where he was part of the Packet Forwarding Team and Content Aware Solutions Team. Nauman's role included debugging and handling feature requests for the Fast Path Programming module as part of the Forwarding Team, and participating from the engineering side to define product features for the Edge Routers with Content Awareness/Networking Analytics and Policy Enforcement features, as part of the Content Aware Solutions Team. Nauman holds a Masters of Computer Science degree from Karachi University, where he studied Computer Science. He has relevant experience of 19.95 years and is skilled in Python, test, Docker, Software Engineer, Java, and C.
