Navaid Abidi is a highly experienced CTO/CIO with a successful track record of product innovation, delivery, launch, and scale of advanced analytics/ML systems in Fortune 500 firms. He is currently working as an AI/ML Deep Learning Engineering Leader at Google Ads. Navaid has 25 years of relevant experience and is skilled in AI, Deep Learning, ML, Research Scientist, BERT, NLP, Senior Software Engineer, and infra. At Google, Navaid is responsible for program lead, strategy, and execution for building and deploying the latest advances in deep learning models and ML infrastructure across Google Ads. He has optimized the pipeline of AI research from Google Research & DeepMind to delivering high-impact products. He was also the lead TPM for AI Ops strategy, from ideation to launch of the system. Navaid's expertise in this role included AIOps, real-time database, distributed systems, petabyte-scale, and real-time analytics. Navaid also worked as Open Source Software Security Initiative at Google, where he helped craft Google-wide strategy for OSS Security to deal with rising cyber risk. He created internal alignment across Google and Google Cloud and helped coordinate response to Biden Admin Executive Order on CyberSecurity, including interaction with National Security Council, government agencies NIST and NTIA. He crafted a strategy quantifying Cyber Risk and fostering a marketplace for cyber risk insurance and identified industry targets for potential partnership and acquisitions. Navaid holds an MBA in Analytic Finance and Econometrics from the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering.
