Navdeep Virdi is a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a passion for backend development. With over 5 years of relevant experience, he is currently working as an SDE-2 at ZestMoney, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining various full-stack applications and RESTful APIs using the MERN stack. He is also involved in handling Dev to Prod work of API development under Agile principles by collaborating with Consumer, Backend, BA and Data Modeler. Navdeep is a problem solver who loves to simplify cumbersome processes and deliver a seamless experience to customers using technology and design. He has extensive hands-on experience in creating frontend components using React.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. He has led the development of a customer-facing dashboard that integrates static and dynamic data related to various APIs, built reusable components with React.js, Node.js, and JavaScript ES6. He was also responsible for monitoring application and tracking performance of the API using App Dynamics and Splunk, troubleshooting and fixing bugs for the APIs in production. Prior to HSBC, Navdeep worked as a Research and Development Intern at Changwon National, where he worked on Illumination Invariant Face Recognition Using High order Local Discrete Patterns. He applied DCT on input image in logarithmic domain and low frequency components responsible for illumination variation were discarded. LDP features were extracted from illumination invariant image. He obtained an average accuracy of 94% using histogram comparison method. Navdeep holds a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. He is proficient in a wide range of technologies and tools, including Javascript, Backend, ReactJS, test, qa, ui, Frontend, Research Scientist, and NodeJS.
