Naveena Vishnu Sankar is a Senior Computer Science major with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is an international transfer student who has had the opportunity to grow both as an individual and a team player during her journey in the UAE and the USA. Naveena has a strong passion for learning and believes that it is not only self-empowering but also a powerful tool to empower those around us. Currently, she is learning iOS development and has been working on various projects, which can be found on her GitHub page. Naveena is actively seeking summer 2021 internships and/or full-time software engineering/development opportunities to learn more, grow more, and contribute to society. She is currently working as a Student Technology Trainer at the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) at UW-Madison, where she is independently creating an advanced CSS manual and collaborating with a team of six students to edit manuals and prepare materials for software/tech workshops. She also assists and teaches Excel and HTML through organized workshops by facilitating presentations for over 30 students and faculty members to develop and enhance their web development and data analysis skills. In the past, Naveena has worked as a Volunteer Teacher for the TEALS program, where she co-taught the Introduction to Computer Science course to high school seniors at Cambridge High School, WI. She also worked as a Developer Student Club - Event Planning Chair for Google Developers, where she headed and conducted events such as weekly study jams and hands-on workshops on Google cloud computing platform-tools. Additionally, she trained and assisted two teams of DSC members to work on finding a solution to Google’s solution challenge for the year 2020. Naveena has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the American University of Sharjah. She has experience working with iOS, Python, and research scientists. With 2.19 years of relevant experience, Naveena is a dedicated and hardworking individual who is always willing to learn and contribute to the success of any team she is a part of.
