Naveenkumar Muguda is a multi-talented Engineer, Speaker, Teacher, and Writer with over 22 years of relevant experience. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at LinkedIn, Naveenkumar has championed the adoption of functional programming and other clean coding/design practices across his department. He has implemented constructs like Unit of Work and Repositories that expedited the development process and built grant mechanisms, history, and other features to facilitate powerful access management features. Naveenkumar has also developed reusable libraries and components, one of which is funp, which eases the adoption of functional programming. He built components that facilitated rapid development of Inspector, a self-service tool for various customer support activities. Through pairing, mentoring, teaching, and conducting workshops, Naveenkumar has raised the skillset across teams. He has also refactored huge portions of the code base. Prior to joining LinkedIn, Naveenkumar served as a Principal Engineer at Target, where he envisioned, evangelized, architected, designed, prototyped, and developed a unified checkout platform to satisfy a diverse set of use cases such as online, store channels, as well as assisted, IOT, and self-checkouts. This project was chosen as one of the top 3 priorities for Target's engineering organization. He was also the architect for Cart and Checkout subsystems for Target’s e-commerce group. Before Target, Naveenkumar worked as an Architect at Flipkart, where he ideated, architected, and prototyped a component-based logistics platform. He provided a microservices-based architecture for Ekart’s First Mile System and architected and developed the Alternative Delivery Model for Ekart’s last-mile offering. Naveenkumar also developed a promise engine for Flipkart’s pickup center offering and evolved the notification system into independent subsystems. Naveenkumar holds a degree from Sri Vani High School and has expertise in Senior Software Engineering, Software Engineering, and Microservices. He is a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for clean coding, functional programming, and innovative design.
