Navin Anand is a highly skilled software professional with over 17 years of experience in solving data, algorithmic, and scale problems in various industries such as Payments, Catalog, and Telecom Systems. As the Director for Intuit Data Exchange (IDX), Navin has defined the product strategy and identified technology choices while leading multiple teams and first line managers. He is passionate about creating high-performance teams to solve complex technical problems using Big Data and Machine Learning. Currently, Navin is responsible for owned systems that have a goal to find products and brands missing on Amazon's catalog. He uses web mining, information retrieval, machine learning, predictive analytics, and cluster computing to continuously and programmatically expand Amazon's catalog. Navin heads the engineering team in India comprising of six sub-teams of ~50 engineers and scientists. The team also built the Compute and Data Platform on top of AWS to enable a shared cluster and data lake for ~200 engineers in Amazon’s Catalog systems. Previously, Navin worked as a Senior Director for Data Platform at Visa where he managed an organization of ~60 engineers and managers to provide clean data with guaranteed SLAs despite the volume, velocity, and variety of Visa's data. His team built systems for closed-loop data governance on '000s of datasets and '00s of PB of payment transaction data in Visa's data lake. The systems handle all aspects of data governance like quality, security, lineage, discovery, backup, and retention to make mission-critical datasets (representing billions of transactions WW) available to Visa and its partners. Navin holds an MBA from iim and an exchange student MBA from Stockholm School of Economics. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Bangalore University. Navin's tech stack includes AWS, Information Retrieval, ML, Web, Big Data, and Software Engineering. With his relevant experience and expertise, Navin is a valuable asset to any organization.
