Nick Falcone is a Software Engineer with a passion for creating accessible and performance-optimized experiences. He is currently working at Bank of America, where he has implemented key web components for over 50 consumer-facing web pages rebuilt with the AMP framework. These pages are now 20-50% faster than the original pages, per Lighthouse performance audits. Nick has also developed a Node script using Puppeteer to automate SEO tests, saving ~30 minutes of manual review after production deploys. He has also built an internal monitoring tool to warn about git conflicts between branches in a large repository (200k+ files), written in Bash, the script posts a daily list of conflicted files to a Mattermost channel via webhook. Nick has led a team of 6 remote developers to bring 160 web pages into compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. Daily code reviews and rigorous alpha-testing helped pages to ship ahead of schedule. He is also a Mentor with Bank of America’s Global Technology & Operations internship program (2019, 2020), involved in the entire process from interviews to one-on-one training, career development, and summer-end review. Nick has worked as a Front End Developer at Icon Information Consultants, where he had a contract with Bank of America. He has also worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Sherman & Company, supporting mergers and acquisitions advisory for the insurance-technology industry. Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Economics, with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Rochester. He also has a Certificate in Front-End Engineering from The Iron Yard. Nick's technical skills include JavaScript, Node.js, REST APIs, Git, HTML templating, CSS preprocessors, Bash scripting, and the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) framework.
