Nick Ottrando is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 8 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently, he is working at Tesla as a Senior Software Engineer, where he is responsible for designing and developing software solutions for the company. Nick has a strong background in Salesforce, Microservices, Mobile, Frontend, Web, iOS, Integration, Ruby, Android, and AngularJS. Prior to joining Tesla, Nick worked as a Senior Software Engineer at EasyPost, where he was responsible for designing, architecting, and maintaining new and existing services. He played a key role in developing EasyPost Carrier, a micro-service that supports EasyPost's own carrier service offering, and Manifester, a service used to auto-manifest batches of shipments on a daily basis at various warehouse facilities. Nick also designed and implemented an order crediting system within EasyPost's fulfillment business, which allowed support engineers and operations managers to give credits to vendors for order issues. Additionally, he eliminated much of the duplicated code in the EasyPost core API by writing concerns to support common operations between carrier accounts for fetching rates, buying labels, and issuing refunds. Before EasyPost, Nick worked as a Software Engineer at OneMob, where he led architecture design, data modeling, and API development. He rebuilt the MVP into a scalable standalone application, integrated various APIs, and worked on front-end development on the single-page web application in Angular 1.5. Nick also updated the application from Rails 4.2 to 5.0 and led code reviews and pull requests, giving feedback to other engineers. Nick holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University, which he completed in 2014.
