Nicolás Azrak is a proactive and self-motivated Principal Software Architect with over 10 years of experience in backend technologies. He has a proven track record of working with high performing architectures to support 65 million DAU in 45 countries for OLX Group. Currently, he is working and learning from the Fintech world in Ualá, with 3 million cards issued and users in Argentina and México. Nicolás is an experienced Engineering Manager who has led teams with ambitious goals and projects. He has worked closely with stakeholders from different countries. As a Software Architect, he plans technical roadmaps, definition, estimation, and execution of projects related to the migration of a monolithic architecture to an architecture oriented to microservices. He works together with the Product, Development, Infrastructure, Data Science, and BI teams. Nicolás has also investigated new technologies that can be used, seeking and validating innovations to apply to new projects. He has designed, developed, and maintained microservices in Java from scratch that supports 65 million active users in more than 45 countries. He has planned the technical roadmap, architecture, and development of the new search platform for OLX. He has developed Solr indexing architecture using Java and Solr 7, integrating microservices using Kafka as streaming data. He has also integrated Restful APIs with predictive data models using an event-oriented architecture. Performance improvements related to response times, CPU, and memory usage to support more than 5.000 requests per second are also part of his achievements. Nicolás has a degree in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad Centro de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Exactas and a degree in Computer Technician from Escuela Técnica Nº 3 "María Sanchez de Thompson". He has also trained and certified in Big Data Systems - ECI UBA and Microservices Workshop - Chris Richardson.
