Nicolas Vayias is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead with over 9 years of experience in the consumer services industry. Currently, Nicolas is working as a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead at KeepTruckin, where he leads the IoT Platform team. He is involved in several exciting projects such as developing a next-gen over-the-air pipeline for firmware downloads, remote configuration pipelines, and ingesting and processing millions of events that devices upload per day. He is also responsible for managing and improving an IoT cluster of hundreds of thousands of devices. Nicolas has previously worked as a Platform Engineer at KeepTruckin, where he developed a message pipeline based on MQTT and an over-the-air pipeline for upgrading firmware efficiently. He also architected and developed an end-to-end cell-connectivity monitoring pipeline for all IoT devices. Additionally, Nicolas has worked as a Software Engineer at Coffee Meets Bagel, where he developed a content-moderation pipeline in Serverless that detects inappropriate photos and does face recognition. He also owned the entire app's infrastructure maintenance when on-call and designed, tested, and released features that scale and are used by millions.
