Nikhil Upadhye is the Co-Founder and CEO of CDSpace, an early-stage startup that builds drones for healthcare and logistics. With a focus on building efficient, reliable, and indigenous drone technology, Nikhil and his team have developed unique Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) fixed-wing drones that exhibit superior advantages over existing drone tech, making it viable to serve new-age transportation. With cutting-edge aerospace design and software intelligence, their drones solve critical limitations in logistics, making it faster, cheaper, and autonomous. Nikhil has over 9 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. He started his career as a Software Developer for the Google Summer of Code for Iowa Flood Foundation. He worked on a project aimed at integrating LSPIV package with QGroundControl (Open source UAV ground control software) to track in real-time the extent, elevation (water stage), and dynamics (velocities) of the water bodies during floods using real-time imagery provided by low-cost open source drone technology. Nikhil is also the Co-founder & CEO of Aarav Unmanned Systems, which has been listed among the Top 30 Tech startups in India in TechSparks 2015. Their drones are 10X faster & generate millionX richer data, helping create insightful analytics so that businesses take well-informed decisions. Their drones can be deployed for aerial 3D mapping for GIS, Mining, Infrastructure, Land records, Smart Cities, etc., precision agriculture, crop health, moisture content, etc., and general industrial inspection/thermal inspection for Telecom Towers, Solar Plants, Windmill, etc. Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and a Masters of Technology (MTech) in Civil Engineering from IIT. He also completed his schooling from Saraswati Bhuvan High School Aurangabad. Nikhil is a visionary leader who is passionate about developing innovative technology solutions to address critical challenges in healthcare and logistics.
