Nilesh Shirbhate is a seasoned engineering leader with more than 17 years of experience in software product development and eight years of experience in engineering management. He is currently the Director of Engineering at Kickdrum India Development Center, where he leads a team of architects, developers, and QA automation engineers. Nilesh is passionate about building high-performing engineering teams and delivering enterprise-class cloud-enabled products. He has a strong technical background and people leadership skills, which he has used to lead large and distributed agile teams. He has experience in server-side development, including robustness, scale, and performance, as well as data center solutions, storage, virtualization, and cloud. Before joining Kickdrum, Nilesh was an Engineering Leader at Cisco, where he was responsible for developing Cisco's Fog Director software and IOx, Cisco's app hosting framework. He has also worked as an Engineering Manager for NetApp's Manageability Products Group (MPG). Nilesh has a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and building and transforming teams into high-performing, agile, and high-energy teams that deliver start-up levels of productivity with the design and quality of a mature product team. He has a startup mindset and is skilled in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. Nilesh has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and has completed an Executive Leadership Development Program from IIM. He is proficient in Java, Java/J2EE, REST, VMware, Storage, Unix, Operating systems, and AWS Cloud.
