Ning Ding is a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a passion for developing and optimizing smartphone OS and apps. With a combined 7 years of academia and 5 years of industrial experience, Ning has a deep understanding of software engineering work related to OS, app, and network systems. Currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Apple, Ning is responsible for optimizing iOS, watchOS, and macOS to extend battery life for millions of Apple customers. Additionally, Ning builds ML platforms and delivers data-driven insights that drive next-generation product design and optimizations. Prior to joining Apple, Ning co-founded Mobile Enerlytics, LLC, where she served as Co-Founder and Energy Analyst. Ning and her team commercialized their research into a product that helps mobile app developers reduce their apps' energy drain. Ning also worked as a Technical Intern at AT&T Labs Research, where she analyzed customer call data using NLP to identify top issues experienced by customers. Ning holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, where she conducted research on software engineering, mobile computing, and energy-efficient systems. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
