He has worked at big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google, as well as startups like Argo and Cruise. Ning has built teams that have shipped products used by billions of people, generated billions of dollars in sales per year, and led the industry in innovation. Ning holds three degrees in Computer Science and an MBA, making him a well-rounded professional with both technical and business acumen. Currently, Ning is the Director of Engineering for YouTube Developer Infrastructure and Tools, where he leads a team responsible for making software development faster, easier, and better for all of YouTube. He is passionate about improving developer experience and productivity, and is actively hiring experienced engineers who share his vision. Prior to YouTube, Ning was the Director of Engineering for Data Infra and Core Infra at Cruise, where he led hundreds of engineers and established a culture of customer, speed, quality, and efficiency. He also served as the Director of Software Engineering for Platform and Services at Argo AI, where he led half of the software team, including AV platform, data infra, applications & services, mapping, labeling, developer infra, and cloud infra. Ning built the org structure, hired leadership, more than doubled the org to over 100 software engineers, and established and improved engineering processes and culture.
