Nipun Gupta is an ambitious graduate student from IIT Delhi with a passion for pursuing a career in the financial technology industry. With 2.86 years of relevant experience, he is currently working as a Quantitative Analyst at Rand Merchant Bank in the complex derivatives pricing team. Nipun has a strong technical background and has worked with various technologies such as SQL, Python, and .NET (C#). Prior to his current role, Nipun worked as a Software Engineer at Societe Generale, where he developed a risk model for ‘late-booked’ deals in python using VaR, Delta, and Vega for Forex, Fixed Income, and Credit instruments under an audit recommendation by ECB. He also developed microservices for SocGen’s primary cross-asset trading platform in .NET(C#) and worked on complete trade lifecycle from booking to settlement for various instruments. He managed and worked on trading databases in SQL for different entities within the group. Nipun also has experience as a Summer Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh. During his time there, he performed pattern detection in complex biological datasets generated by RNA sequencing using PCA and t-SNE. He also developed a deep learning model for the classification of fluorescence microscopy cell nuclei images and implemented a pipeline for chromosome detection in fluorescent cell images using WND (Weighted Neighbour Distance). Nipun holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is also a CFA L2 Candidate. With his strong technical skills and experience in the financial technology industry, Nipun is well-positioned to make significant contributions to any organization he joins.
