Niraj Rajput is the Head of Engineering at Chisel, a company that helps organizations craft amazing products by balancing the three dimensions of product management - product roadmaps, customer focus, and team alignment. With over 3 years of relevant experience, Niraj is passionate about building scalable infrastructure and systems. He is a full-stack engineering leader with expertise in AI/ML/NLP projects, including virtual agent development. Niraj has a strong background in NLP and was instrumental in building the NLP stack at IMI Mobile in the past. During his tenure there, he worked on research and development of the company's current rule-based platform for chatbot building. He also developed an entire back-end of an ML-based bot-building platform using RASA, an open-source framework for chatbot development. Additionally, he developed various training, inference, and testing APIs and deployed them on a server. Using this platform, he built ML-based bots that had the same domain as the company's rule-based bots and compared those among each other. He also developed a few APIs for entity extraction and intent classification and added these ML capabilities to a current rule-based chatbot platform. In his previous role as Sports Secretary - Cricket at Institute Sports Council, Niraj managed more than 50 players of IIT Roorkee cricket group for a year. He led the team in many sports tournaments, organized many hostel level cricket tournaments, fitness workshops, motivational talks, fun activities to find new talents, and encourage others to involve more and more with this sport. He also coordinated with the Institute Sports Council (ISC) to fulfill basic requirements and infrastructure to improve the cricket sport in IIT Roorkee. Niraj holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He has a diverse tech stack that includes Senior Software Engineer, NLP, product manager, ML, AI, Mobile, infra, Software Engineer, test, Research Scientist, and Backend.
